Thanks for accepting the call to corporately study and share. We will be doing one chapter a day. I encourage as many as can, to read, study, meditate and share a thought/s from your devotion. May the Lord bless our devotions.
Key Verse: Proverbs 1:7
The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline.

a short, well-known pithy saying, stating a general truth or piece of advice.Proverbs teach wisdom through short points and principles but should not be regarded as “laws” or even universal promises.In christian terms these are words of wisdom from that exponnentially increace the value of life.
  1. ✅God is willing to give us wisdom at all times. even when we are naive and inexperienced. Vs 4 "That prudence (good judgment, astute common sense) may be given to the naive or inexperienced [who are easily misled]" James 1:5
  2. ✅ The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.. Vs 7 The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence];
  3. ✅Wisdom is a spirit. Just like the way we have a spirit of discernment, understanding, knowledge, excellence etc. I have never seen it this way. Vs 23. If you will turn and pay attention to my rebuke, Behold, I [Wisdom] will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. Ephesians 1:17..Paul prays that we shall be filled with the spirit of wisdom and knowledge.. May the Lord touch as a fresh and fill us with the spirit of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. And above all, with the Holy Spirit, who always knows the mind of God.
Proverbs 1 Question, why is wisdom spoken of as female?🙂
Obed Pastor: Proverbs 1:20-21Why Wisdom is Depicted as a "SHE":
One of the things you will notice in the book of Proverbs is that wisdom is depicted as a she. What does that mean?
  1. ️ Wisdom is a female aspect of God
  2. Wisdom is desirable
  3. Desirable hence interacted with intimately
  4. Intimate interaction with wisdom will produce fruit. And not just any fruit, but good and eternal fruit. You will see the fruit of wisdom painted throughout the book of Proverbs.
May we desire wisdom. May our lives declare the good fruit of wisdom. Amen.
Many times we think God is purely man! But when we know God has both male and female aspects.. He said let us make man in our image and likeness, male and female He created them.
The church is also another entity that declares the female side of God.. And wisdom too.. 🙏 🙏

Moureen: My thought on proverbs chapter One.

  1. The wisdom of God comes when we fear him( when we believe in Him)
  2. Helps you make the right decisions and know which way to choose at any particular time.
  3. Wisdom makes your ways stable and secure because of the knowledge you have of God.
  4. Anyone can be a beneficially including the simple
