Shalom Family,
Thanks for accepting the call to corporately study and share. We will be doing one chapter a day. I encourage as many as can, to read, study, meditate and share a thought/s from your devotion.
May the Lord bless our devotions.
Key Verse: Proverbs 1:7
The [reverent] fear of the LORD [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline.

Overview
✳️ Verses: 31
✳️ Theme: More Wise Sayings Contrasting Folly and Righteousness.
Observe - Absolute Positions in God
You are either walking in folly or wisdom; you are either righteous or wicked! There is no a betwixt in the walk of faith! One of the lies of the enemy, in trying to derail a believer and push to hell the simple minds, is to show options that are neither wrong or right, true or false, light or dark, moral or moral. Brethren, there are no such positions. They only exist in humanism and paganism where man, choosing the philosophy of relativism, becomes a definer of what is right or wrong. But the truth is that God's position over everything is absolute. I know we like using the term "permissive will of God." However, in the kingdom of our God, a true standing with Him means you have taken His absolute position on a matter; you are in His will, which is always perfect! Light is light and darkness is as is! In God there are no shades of light or darkness.
The wise sayings in this book of proverbs are indicating to us absolute, infallible and inerrant positions of God and what it means to be wise, righteous, and otherwise. Moving from one position shifts you to another; not others!
As we read through the proverbs, let us review our own walk and establish where we stand - the absolute positions we have taken. It is my prayer that we will be found in right standing with Him. Highlights on Absolute Positions
✅ Verse 1 - Abhor dishonest scales; delight in accurate weights. When it comes to dealings (commercial or judicial), the scales are either just or unjust, true or false. And our engagements will either say we doing the abhorrent or that which delights Him.
✅ Verse 2 - You are either Proud or Humble
✅ Verse 3 - Your walk is either in Integrity or in duplicity
✅ Verse 11 - There is either Exaltation or an overthrow/humiliation

✅ Verse 20 - Your heart is either perverse or blameless
✅ Verse 23 - The end of your desires is either goodness or wrath
✅ Verse 24 - You are either generous or stingy; you scatter or withhold!

✅ Verse 27 - Favor or trouble!

Proverbs 11
-dealings that are false/unrighteous are offensive to God. It's tempting in business to tilt the scales or do something that I clearly know is not just. I can recount many times in my line of work where I've said to myself "this will sort me out for a long time"..
And looking back I've refused those deals not because I was righteous bit I think more out of fear. How I pray my motivation would be purely because of the fear of God.
- Being in right standing with God has many benefits attached to it under this passage and what's worth noting money is not my security ( I think for me this begs us to ask the question on where does our security/confidence) lie in?
Question?have to pose a question here and ask, what does "a gracious woman" look like V.16 AMPC. You know in my head I see those southern women with hair done in neat lines with long gorgeous dresses and who don't talk when their husbands talk 😂😂...but seriously I alluded to the fact sometimes back that this is a quality I lack, but maybe i misconstrued it.
-Giving: of myself, my time , my resources...I'm I giving liberally or holding back. In this time of this pandemic I'm I concerned with the welfare of others?
Oh that I may live a life that is right before God that I may be counted as one diligently seeking the Lord.
Bon: This is totally me but am learning so much
Obed Pastor: Selah..

Proverbs 11
The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.
Proverbs 11:1 NIV
This caught my eye. Dishonest scales are quite common in our country. Where you get an inch less of cloth material because someone did something to the tape measure. Or one gets less in weight (eg when buying meat) etc.
But closer to us is how we treat people. Do we have the same standard of treating people of different ethnicity, economic status, education, family members, denominations or even church member or clergy? This is where I fail.😥 I need to treat all people the same.
Don Mwas: Proverbs chapter 11
In verse 1, we see that the lord is delighted in what is just..so i get that we should also be just, e.g if we operate businesses we should charge what is fair.
-basically from this whole chapter, i get that we should be people of integrity and who are righteous, as there are rewards in them, and if we are opposite that, there are consequences that follows..

Proverbs 11:4
That was my key learning point from Proverbs 11. The current covid 19 situation has proved to us that wealth can be worthless. The greatest wealth is salvation and intimacy with God. This will not only deliver us in the present world but in the world to come (eternal death). May the Lord help us to look beyond our current circumstances and focus on what matters most, His kingdom and his righteousness
Thanks for the summary.. It helps me remember the differences
Amen.. Your candid sharing always challenges me my sister. I have come to realize that, the market or work place / business environment is the best place to know whether you are a real Christian or not🤣🤣🤣
Amen... Do we treat people the same way?🤔🤔🤔 Thanks for the challenge
Amen.. In all these things, may we gain the wisdom to know what is really of eternal value.
Thanks Mwas... Kwa kweli, living a life of integrity is so paramount
